Dinner Plate puzzle (dining room table)

The answer in one line

Play Film Canister 1 on the projector, take the Plate with X from the theater box, put it on the empty place, then cover the plate opposite it with Black Tape; the middle double door opens and gives you the green Square Stone.

Where the puzzle is

The table is in the dining room on the 1st floor. One seat has no plate at all, and one plate doesn't match the rest of the set.

The fix comes in two halves: fill the empty seat with the odd plate from the theater, then make the plate across from it match by marking it the same way.

What you need

  • Film Canister 1: the chest in the 2nd-floor office
  • Plate with X: the theater box that opens after you play Film Canister 1
  • Black Tape: up the stairwell through the dining room's right door, first door

Step by step

  1. Play Film Canister 1 on the projector

    Take Film Canister 1 out of the chest in the 2nd-floor office and run it on the projector. Playing the reel opens a box in the theater.

  2. Take the Plate with X from the theater

    Go into the theater and pick the Plate with X out of the box that just opened.

  3. Fill the empty place at the table

    Return to the dining room and put the Plate with X on the seat that had nothing on it.

  4. Mark the opposite plate with Black Tape

    Leave the dining room by the right door, climb the stairwell and pick up the Black Tape behind the first door. Back at the table, use the tape on the plate directly across from the Plate with X so both show an X.

  5. Take the Square Stone

    The middle double door of the dining room is now open. Go in and take the green Square Stone.

  6. Open the green symbol door upstairs

    Carry the Square Stone to the 3rd-floor apartment and use it on the door with the green symbol. The stone crumbles after use; inside you get the White Candle. What the candle is used for is not confirmed in our sources yet.

If it doesn’t work

The projector won't play anything.
You need Film Canister 1 first. It is in the chest in the 2nd-floor office, not in the projector room.
I placed the Plate with X but the double door is still shut.
That is only half of it. The plate opposite the Plate with X also has to be covered with Black Tape, which is behind the first door up the stairwell to the right of the dining room.
Where do I use the Square Stone?
On the green symbol door in the 3rd-floor apartment, back where the game starts.
