Projector room padlock code (Iván's phone)

The answer in one line

Find the USB Adapter upstairs behind the 1st-floor dining room, combine it with the USB Cable into a USB Charger, charge Iván's phone in his 3rd-floor apartment, then enter the 4-digit code it shows on the projector room padlock. The code is different every run; Julia also writes it in the Old Book.

Where the puzzle is

The padlock is on the projector room door (Door A) in the 1st-floor community center. The phone with the code is back in Iván's apartment on the 3rd floor, in the room behind the purple door left of the broken TV.

The 4-digit code is random per run, so a code from a video will not open your padlock. See the section below on reading your own phone.

What you need

  • USB Cable: from the shattered glass pitcher in the Septimo Arte bar (bell and glass puzzle)
  • USB Adapter: 1st floor, at the top of the stairs behind the dining room, next to the boarded-up door

Step by step

  1. Get the USB Adapter

    On the 1st floor, take the door on the right, go through the doorway where light is coming in, then use the right-hand door in the dining room and climb the stairs. The USB Adapter lies by the boarded-up door.

  2. Make the USB Charger

    Combine the USB Cable with the USB Adapter in the inventory.

  3. Charge Iván's phone

    Go to Iván's 3rd-floor apartment, into the room behind the purple door left of the broken TV, and use the USB Charger by the outlet next to the phone. Julia reads the 4-digit code and copies it into the Old Book.

  4. Enter the code on the padlock

    Return to the 1st-floor community center and enter your code on the padlock of Door A, the projector room.

How to read your own clue

Where it appears. Iván left the padlock combination on his phone, which sits in his 3rd-floor apartment, in the room behind the purple door left of the broken TV. The phone is dead until you plug in the USB Charger.

What it looks like. Once charged, the phone shows a 4-digit number. Julia reads it and copies it into the Old Book, so you can look it up again later.

How to turn it into the input. Enter those four digits, in the same order, on the padlock of Door A in the 1st-floor community center. There’s nothing to decode: the number on the phone is the combination.

How to know it worked. The padlock opens and the projector room is unlocked. If it stays shut, check the Old Book for the exact digits and try again.

The code is different every run (X-Rey flags it as randomized), so any code you see in a video is only that player’s; yours will differ.

Ending 3: enter 6666 first

On the route to Ending 3, VIVUS EX MORTIBUS, this padlock gives the second Iron Cross. According to iampanax’s endings guide, the route needs Endings 1 and 2 already cleared, a new game, and the Bible taken from the ground-floor lobby.

  1. Before you enter the phone code, use the Bible at the padlock.
  2. Enter 6666.
  3. A fight starts. Win it to receive Iron Cross 2.
  4. Then open the padlock with your phone code as usual.

The first Iron Cross comes from the TV remote puzzle room; the third and where to insert all three are on the endings page.

If it doesn’t work

The code from the video doesn't work.
Each run gets its own code. Charge the phone in your own game and use that number.
I forgot the code.
Open the Old Book: Julia wrote it there when she read the phone.
I already used the phone code. Can I still get Iron Cross 2?
The 6666 Bible step is meant to be done before the normal code. Whether it still works afterwards is not confirmed, so on an Ending 3 run do it first.
