Key stuck in the A.S. door

The answer in one line

Open the blue door left of the 2nd-floor elevator with the Triangular Stone, then at the A.S. door use the X-Ray first (it slides under the door) and the Scissor Blade second to poke the key out onto it. You get the A.S. Key.

Where the puzzle is

The A.S. door is in the film production offices behind the blue symbol door, left of the elevator on the 2nd floor.

Look through its keyhole and you see the key still sitting in the lock on the far side. The trick is the old one: put something flat under the door, push the key out so it drops onto it, then pull it back.

What you need

  • Triangular Stone (blue): next to the red candle outside the 2nd-floor bedroom window, after you meet Sanguis
  • Scissor Blade: 2nd-floor kitchen counter
  • X-Ray: 2nd-floor apartment, low shelf by the front door

Step by step

  1. Get the blue Triangular Stone

    After the Sanguis encounter, climb out of the 2nd-floor bedroom window. The blue Triangular Stone lies beside the red candle.

  2. Pick up the Scissor Blade and the X-Ray

    The Scissor Blade is on the 2nd-floor kitchen counter. The X-Ray sits on the low shelf next to the apartment's front door.

  3. Open the blue door left of the elevator

    In the 2nd-floor hallway, use the Triangular Stone on the blue door to the left of the elevator. It leads to the film production offices.

  4. Slide the X-Ray under the A.S. door

    Find the door marked A.S. and use the X-Ray on it. Julia pushes it under the door.

  5. Push the key out with the Scissor Blade

    Now use the Scissor Blade on the same door. The key falls out of the lock onto the X-Ray and Julia pulls it back: the A.S. Key.

  6. Unlock the A.S. door

    Use the A.S. Key on the door to get into the director's office.

If it doesn’t work

The Scissor Blade does nothing at the door.
Order matters: the X-Ray has to go under the door first. Without it, the key has nothing to land on.
I can't get past the blue door.
You need the blue Triangular Stone from outside the 2nd-floor bedroom window. It only becomes reachable after the Sanguis encounter.
Where is the X-Ray?
On the low shelf just inside the 2nd-floor apartment, by the front door.
