We Were Here Tomorrow Generator Puzzle Solution (cable route GEN to Ψ07, three batteries)

Updated 24 Oct 2026 · Game version: 1.1.1 ·

The answer in one line

Activate the modules in this order: GEN → Ψ01 → Ψ04 → Ψ02 → Ψ03 → Ψ06 → Σ04 → Σ03 → Σ01 → Σ02 → Ψ08 → Θ03 → Δ02 → Δ03 → λ02 → λ03 → λ01 → Ψ07. It passes through every module the three batteries ask for (Ψ02, λ03, Θ03) and ends at Ψ07, which feeds the batteries.

In words: psi 01, 04, 02, 03, 06; sigma 04, 03, 01, 02; psi 08; theta 03; delta 02, 03; lambda 02, 03, 01; psi 07. If the chain breaks, both pull the reset levers at the same time and start again from GEN.

Where the puzzle is

R&D Headquarters, the big two-level machine hall with cables running between numbered modules (GEN, Ψ01–Ψ08, Σ01–Σ04, Θ01–Θ04, Δ01–Δ05, λ01–λ03). We place it here from the order of the videos (right after the R&D floors, right before the Temporal Research Centre); the achievement for this stretch is "Turn It Off And On Again: Restored power to R&D Headquarters".

The modules are split between the floor and an upper walkway. In our session the yellow explorer (goop gun) worked from the walkway (Ψ08, Δ02) and the red explorer (hook gun) from the floor (Ψ07, Ψ04, Σ01 and the battery wall). Whoever is next to the next module presses it.

Battery wall: three batteries, each listing the modules the power must pass through. Battery 1: Ψ02. Battery 2: Ψ02 and λ03. Battery 3: Ψ02, λ03 and Θ03.

What you need

  • Walkie-talkie: call out each module ID before you press it

Step by step

  1. Know the rules

You start at GEN. Each button press activates one module, and it only works if that module is connected by cable to the module you activated last. Every module can be used only once. RED, GRE(EN) and BLU are not modules; they are locked doors that open groups of modules. Ψ07 is wired to the batteries, so the chain has to end there.

  2. Know which module opens which door

Σ02 opens GREEN (Θ01–Θ04). Σ03 opens RED (Δ01, Δ03, Δ04). Δ03 opens BLUE (λ01–λ03). At the start only GEN, the Ψ modules, the Σ modules, Δ02 and Δ05 are available.

  3. Run the chain

    GEN → Ψ01 → Ψ04 → Ψ02 → Ψ03 → Ψ06 → Σ04 → Σ03 (RED opens) → Σ01 → Σ02 (GREEN opens) → Ψ08 → Θ03 → Δ02 → Δ03 (BLUE opens) → λ02 → λ03 → λ01 → Ψ07. Say the next ID out loud and wait for the other player to confirm it lit before calling the one after.

  4. Check the batteries

Because the route passes Ψ02, then Θ03, then λ03 and ends at Ψ07, all three battery requirements are met. In our session the batteries lit green one by one; we did not see whether you can charge them in one run or have to finish one battery at a time.

  5. If something goes wrong: reset together

A wrong press breaks the chain and the module errors. Both players pull their reset levers at the same time, then start again from GEN. One Steam commenter had a correct chain fail at the last module and fixed it with a reset and a second, identical run.

Two Steam guides, written independently, give the same 18-step route. We checked every link in it against the module diagram in Hemique’s guide: each step is cabled to the one before, and every door is opened before a module behind it is used. The battery requirements come from the battery wall itself in Zero Reviews’ video.

If it doesn’t work

Is this the glove training cable puzzle?
No. The [glove training cable puzzle](/we-were-here-tomorrow/puzzles/glove-training-cable-puzzle/) is early in the game, in the Prototype room, and is about powering coloured cables to open a door. This one is later, has Greek-letter modules (Ψ, Σ, Θ, Δ, λ) and a battery wall. The Steam guide for it is simply titled "Cable puzzle".
We're stuck on the third battery.
The third battery needs the chain to pass Ψ02, λ03 and Θ03 before reaching Ψ07. The usual mistake is using up a module you need later, for example taking Ψ08 → Ψ07 too early. Reset and run the full route above.
A Θ, Δ or λ module won't activate.
Its door is still locked. Θ needs Σ02 first, Δ01/Δ03/Δ04 need Σ03, and λ needs Δ03. Also check it is cabled to the module you pressed last.
Who should do what?
It doesn't matter; the modules are on both levels. One player, ideally the one who can see the cables best, reads out the next ID; whoever stands next to that module presses it.
